Meet Our New Urban Planner: Sathya Joins Certified Planning and Development
We’re excited to welcome Sathya to the Certified Planning and Development team as our newest Urban Planner.
With nearly seven years of experience in both Australian and international planning environments, Sathya brings a unique global perspective and a strong academic foundation to our projects. She recently completed her Masters of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of South Australia, further building on her already impressive qualifications. This includes a Masters of Real Estate Management and Valuation and a Bachelor of Science in Town and Country Planning (Honours) from leading Sri Lankan universities.
This powerful combination of real-world experience and academic excellence allows Sathya to navigate both the market realities and planning policy frameworks that shape our cities and communities. Her ability to bridge these two worlds means she can assist in delivering planning solutions that are not only practical and innovative but also deeply aligned with client goals and community values.
Before joining us in Adelaide, Sathya played a key role in several major strategic planning initiatives in Sri Lanka, including the Administrative Capital City Plan and Tourism Master Plans for internationally recognised destinations. Her contributions to spatial planning, policy development, and long-term visioning continue to influence sustainable development in those regions.
Sathya’s true passion lies in sustainable community development. Her project work spans environmental protection, community resilience, and improving quality of life, all areas that strongly align with our mission at Certified Planning and Development. She also brings hands-on experience in development assessment, equipping her with a practical understanding of local planning systems and compliance requirements.
Sathya has been a committed student member of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) and has recently been promoted to full professional membership (MPIA). This promotion demonstrates her high level of knowledge and experience and her dedication to continuous growth as a planning professional.
We’re thrilled to have Sathya on board and look forward to the energy, insight, and commitment she brings to every project. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
